Helpful Hints |
 Whelk |
6 |
1600 |
N/A |
Only hit the head. If you hit the shell with ANYTHING, it'll hit you with a MegaVolt that kinda stings a bit. (Read: it kills you) |
 Marshal |
8 |
420 |
Dance |
Use the party of Moogles with Mog in it. First, rid him of his equipment (trust me) and then have him use his Dusk Requiem Dance skill. No problemo. |
 Magitek Armor |
8 |
210 |
Bolt |
This isn't really very hard, just keep using Fire and Autocrossbow. Have Locke fight, and have Terra heal if anyone gets hurt. |
 Vargas |
12 |
11600 |
Pummel |
Gale Cut can really damage the party, so keep everyone in good health at all times. Casting Fire on everyone and using the Autocrossbow will help keep you alive until Sabin arrives. When he gets there, select Blitz, and when the arrow is on him, enter left arrow, right arrow, left arrow, and then push A. That's your Pummel Blitz (if you don't have a booklet.) Then he'll freak out and die. |
 Ultros |
19 |
3000 |
Fire, Bolt |
Put everyone in the back row so the Tentacle attacks won't hurt you as badly. Use Fire, Pummel, and the Autocrossbow, and have Banon use Health every round. You should be fine. |
 Tunnel Armor |
16 |
1300 |
Bolt |
Yet more Imperial machinery to beat on. Have Celes use Runic on every turn to effectively shut down its offense, then just hack away at it with Locke’s regular attacks. |
 Ghost Train |
14 |
1900 |
Potion, Fenix Down |
The Ghost Train has an attack called Phantom Toot that will wreak havoc on your party’s status. No worries, just use a Fenix Down on it immediately for an instant kill. |
 Rizopas |
13 |
775 |
N/A |
You have to fight a bunch of Piranhas before this, but use Pummel, throw Shuriken, and have Cyan use either Dispatch or Retort SwdTechs. |
 Kefka |
18 |
3000 |
N/A |
Kefka likes attacking with magic, so use Celes’ Runic ability if she’s in your party. Otherwise, the standard AutoCrossbow, Pummel technique will suffice. I'd recommend putting both Terra and Celes in the same party, with Sabin and Locke or Edgar. Use Pummel, Fire & Ice, and a regular attack. When party members get low on HP, heal them with Tonics, but keep a steady flow of attacks from at least one magic user. |
 Dadaluma |
22 |
3270 |
Ice |
Ignore the thugs he summons to help him and concentrate on Dadaluma with Ice spells, Suplexes, and the Chainsaw for an easy victory. Be ready to heal the group when he uses Shockwave. |
 Ultros 2 |
19 |
2550 |
Fire, Bolt |
Since Ultros doesn’t like electricity, summon the Ramuh Esper and use Bolt and Fire spells. As for physical attacks, the Chainsaw disagrees with Ultros in a big way. |
| Ifrit & Shiva |
21 |
3300 & 3000 |
Ice & Fire |
When Ifrit appears, attack with Ice. When Shiva appears, use Fire. Physical attacks don't do much, so Shiva's a bit harder to fight without Terra throwing Fire around. Give it your all, you might have to do it more than once. |
 No. 024 |
24 |
4777 |
N/A |
Summoning Shiva here is suprisingly useful. Otherwise a suplex and the chainsaw are the way to go in this fight. Winning the battle will get you the Blizzard Sword. |
 No. 128 |
23 |
3276 |
N/A |
Destroy the claws first with a well-placed Pummel or Chainsaw attack, but they will regenerate. Otherwise just keep nailing him with physical attacks and have someone healing every round. |
 Kefka’s Cranes |
24 |
4100 |
Water |
The Cranes will use Bolt and Fire magic to attack. Be sure to heal, especially Setzer since his levels are probably low. The chainsaw is especially effective here. |
 Flame Eater |
26 |
8400 |
Ice, Water |
It constantly summons more monsters, so concentrate on Flame Eater with Ice, Aqua Rake, or the Blizzard (and ice rods, lotsa Ice rods!!!!!!!) rather than worrying about his lackeys. If he casts save, Aqua Rake will still work, but other magic won’t. |
 Ultros again |
25 |
22000 |
Sketch, Bolt, Fire |
You should know how to fight this annoying antagonist by now. Beat him down with fire and bolt spells and physical attacks until Relm appears. At that point, use her Sketch ability to end the fight immediately. |

 Ultros & Chupon |
26 |
10000 |
Ice |
After beating Ultros with Fire 2, concentrate on Chupon when he appears, as Ultros has nothing to do with winning anymore. Ice 2 does incredible damage to Chupon, as does the chainsaw. |
 Air Force |
25 |
8000 |
Bolt |
Defeat his accomplices first and destroy the “speck” when the countdown starts, then hit him with the chainsaw, pummel, and strong Fire spells. If you don’t destroy him before the counter hits zero, look out! |
 Atma Weapon |
37 |
24000 |
N/A |
Use Cherub Downs to make his Quake attack useless, then just keep pummeling him with physical attacks and any elemental spells you can. Have someone heal the entire group every round or you’re a goner. |
 Nerapa |
26 |
2800 |
Bolt/Ice |
This is a really easy boss that’s more of a time-waster than anything else. Use physical attadcks to keep from taking to much time with her. Sometimes the chainsaw tool will take her out in one hit. |
 Phunbaba |
31 |
28000 |
Poison |
Cast Poison or Bio if you have it and just keep using physical attacks afterward. Sabin’s suplex blitz and Edgar’s Drill Tool get the job well done. |
    Tentacle |
34 |
22000 |
N/A |
These guys are quick and nasty, taking allies out of the fight for a few turns at a time and slowing everyone down. Don’t use a multi-target attacks, but rather concentrate on one at a time with the chainsaw and pummel blitz. |
 Presenter |
31 |
9845 |
Fire |
Like Whelk, using magic on this guy’s shell is a no-no. Pummel Blitz and Fire are effective, but if you want to take ac hance, use a one-hit kill weapon (like assassin knife or chainsaw) on the shell—you may get an instant kill. |
 Dullahan |
37 |
23450 |
Fire |
Having Celes use Runic on every turn will effectively destroy any offense this guy has. While he’s floundering with his useless magic, attack him with Pummel Blitz and the Chainsaw Tool. |
 Storm Dragon |
74 |
42000 |
Bolt |
His wind attacks are nasty, so have someone healing constantly. Use Blitzes, the Chainsaw, and Bolts to do away with him. This is a tough fight, but the Force Armor you get for winning is sweet. |
 SrBehemoth |
43 |
19000 |
Fire |
Have Celes use Runic every round and beat on this guy with Pummel Blitz and the Chainsaw to win. When his evil cousing attacks from behind after the first battle, use a revivify potion on it for an instant kill. |
 Chadarnook |
41 |
30000 |
Fire |
In Goddess form this thing counterattacks with some nasty status spells, so unleash some fire magic, pummel blitzes, and Drill moves against it in Demon form to make the fight go a little more smoothly. |
 Red Dragon |
67 |
30000 |
Ice |
Equip the gorup with wall rings to minimize the damage from fire spells. Use Ice and Suplex in order to gain the upper hand. Don’t use fire magic, as it heals him. |
 Master Pug |
67 |
22000 |
N/A |
Magic is ineffective here, so use physical attacks. Edgar’s Drill and Sabin’s Suplex should do away with this fiend quickly, and the reward is well worth the time and effort. |
 Katana Soul |
61 |
37620 |
Bolt |
Katana’s really quick and isn’t affected too much by magic, so use multiple regular physical attacks and have on person heal each round. When he powers up, physical attacks won’t hurt him, but only for a little while. |
 Blue Dragon |
65 |
26900 |
Bolt |
He uses a lot of multi-target water-based attacks, so be ready to heal. A timely Bolt 3 spell ocupled with Edgar’s Drill Tool should dispatch him rather nicely. |
 Ice Dragon |
74 |
24400 |
Fire |
If you’re anywhere near level 40, this fight is a breeze. Fire combined with some Pummel and Suplex Blitzes will put this lizard down for the count in no time flat. |
 Tritoch |
62 |
30000 |
Fire |
Tritoch is almost impervious to physical attacks, but Fire 3 will deal out approximately 9999 points of damage eery time. The only physical attack what will work very well comes from using the Atma Weapon. |
 Yeti |
33 |
17200 |
Fire |
Fire is the key with this dude. Sabin’s Blitzes will do some good damage, as will edgar’s Tools, but a quick win will be yours with a few Fire 3 attacks. |
 White Dragon |
71 |
18500 |
Fire |
Since you can only use magi on this guy, use Fire 2 & 3 for the best results. Don’t use Ice magic, as it heals him. Ultima is also effective. If your party is equipped with wall rings, you won’t take any damage from him. |
 MagiMaster |
68 |
50000 |
Varies |
Cast Life 3 on someone immediately, because MagiMaster uses Ultima at the end to kill the entire party. Cast Bserk on him right away to stop his wall change spell, then experiment with the Magic you have to find his weakness. |
 Doom Gaze |
68 |
55555 |
N/A |
This guy attacks at random when flying the airship in the World of Ruin. He always escapes, but damage dealt remains, so you will eventually do him in. Have someone ready with Life spells and use strong physical attacks. *Note: you can use Vanish/Doom or Vanish/X-Zone, but if you use X-Zone, you will not be able to collect the Esper he leaves behind. |
 Dirt Dragon |
53 |
28500 |
Fire/Ice |
Equip everyone with Cherub Downs and this dragon can barely touch you. Use Ice 3 and Fire 3 as well as Suplex Blitzes and Edgar's Drill tool to do away with him quickly. |
 Curley
   Moe Larry |
all 47 |
all 15000 |
all Ice |
Defeat Curley (the top guy) with Ice first, since he revives the other two if they die. Once he's out of the way, dispatch the other stooges with multiple Ice or Fire spells. |
 Wrexsoul |
53 |
23066 |
Ice |
Will disappear into a party member until they get wounded. Uce Ice 3 on him when you can see him, otherwise use X-Zone until the two SoulSavrs with him Disappear for an easy victory. |
 Hidon |
43 |
25000 |
Fire |
Kill off the Hidonites surrounding him first, then attack Hidon with Blitzes and Fire 3. Be sure to let him hit Strago at least once or he'll never learn the GrandTrain lore. |
 Atma |
67 |
55000 |
Fire |
This beast dislikes Fire magic and strong physical attacks like Fire3 and Pummel Blitz. Equip theh party with Cherub Down or a float spell because Atma prefers to attack with the Quake spell. |
 Gold Dragon |
62 |
32400 |
Water |
The Gold Dragon uses Bolt attacks almost exclusively, so counter with Water spells like Aqua Rake and CleanSweep. Sabin's Suplex Blitz works especially well on this brute. |
 Inferno |
67 |
30800 |
Ice |
He attacks with Fire spells, so counter with stron Ice spells. Even though the armsrevive really quickly, keeping at least one of them down at all times will avoid having to deal with Inferno's Delta Attack. |
 Skull Dragon |
62 |
32800 |
Physical |
Use Ribbons and Peace Rings to protect yourself form status ailments. Strong physical attacks work best on this ragon as well as spells like Rasp and Osmose, since depleting his magic points will destroy him. |
 Guardian |
67 |
60000 |
Bolt |
Sabin's Suplex Blitz and the Bolt 3 spell both do between 7000-9000 damage to the Guardian. It attacks with Tek Laser most of the time, but switches to battle mode and fights like Ultros and Dadaluma. |
 Poltergeist |
67 |
58000 |
Poison |
His Blaster spell kills a party member instantly. Cast Poison or Bio on him immediately, then finish him off using Flare and Edgar's Drill Tool. |
 Doom |
73 |
63000 |
Ultima |
Sine he keeps changing his aura, no one spell element is effective all the time. However, the Ultima spell is always good for 8000-9999 damage no matter what. He attacks with Ice spells. |
 Goddess |
68 |
44000 |
Ultima |
Use Peace Rings and Ribbons to avoid status ailments. All spells but Bolt should be used here, especially the Ultima spell. The Goddess drops the awesome Excalibur Sword when she's bested. |
